That's pretty stupid
Via Outside the Tent:
Apparently some Alabamans don't quite understand that "Daylight-Saving Time" doesn't literally create more daylight:
A proposed measure making its way through Congress that could mean longer days for a longer period of time is playing to mixed reviews in the tri-county area.
...
Millbrook resident Carol Huey said she likes daylight-saving time because it gives her more time to work outside.
"I like the longer hours because I’m retired," she said. "It gives me more time to spend in the yard and not be cooped up in the house."
Clif adds:
Alvin Singletary, a professor of agronomy at the Auburn extension university in Montgomery, raised an additional concern. "Alabama farms currently get enough sunlight. Any more and we’ll see crop burn, which could devastate our agricultural economy."
"Heh."

Sanity is not statistical.
